kLite - New USB C Lighting Combo Kit

A build-your-own dynamo lighting kit that pairs the kLite ULTRA front light with the kLite MICRO USB-C charger, with an optional QUBE AC rear light, all run through a 3-port wire loom and bar switch. Built for rough-terrain racing and backcountry adventures such as Unbound XL and the Hunt 1000.

How it works

• Bar switch selects full lighting or full USB charging; the rear light runs whenever you are moving.
• Rear light has its own plug and stays on for safety; front light plugs into the short lead and the USB-C charger into the long lead.

Front light (ULTRA V2)

• 1300 lumens, 135 g
• Combined beam: wide field of view with a centre-weighted punch for distance
• Auto high/low beam - no button to press
• Soft optical cutoff (a hard cutoff can create blind spots under fork dive)
• Standby mode: stays lit for 30 minutes when slow or stopped, so you can find gear or make camp
• Low-speed power booster gives more output at low speed than standard dynamo lights
• Tough, impact-resistant, waterproof and field repairable
• Mount heatsink up or down, but not sideways

USB-C charger (kLite MICRO)

• Up to 1400 mA (500 mA typical), starts charging from about 8 km/h
• Works with USB power banks for charging devices later
• Waterproof body

Rear light (QUBE AC, optional)

• Flashing or solid mode via a button on the rear
• Includes seatpost mount and two seat-stay fittings

Dynamo hub compatibility

• Best paired with SON 28 / Delux and SP / Shimano dynamo hubs.
• Designed for standard hubs producing about 1 V per km/h. Not compatible with high-output hubs such as the SON 29S / SON 29 (roughly double the voltage) - the charger input protection can overheat on fast descents with nothing connected. A high-voltage version is in development.

Good to know

• Dynamo hub output is limited to about 3 W. If USB charging draws heavily while the light is on, the system enters "power share" mode, giving USB priority (the centre LED may not light). Charge in daylight with the light off for best results.
• Runs from a dynamo hub only (AC). It cannot be run from a battery or power bank, and a bottle dynamo cannot fully light it.
• The USB charger body is waterproof, but the USB sockets can rust if left in rain. Dielectric grease or a top tube / frame bag helps protect them.

Compliance

• Not compliant with German StVZO and not approved for public roads in Germany. German riders must also fit a separate street-legal taillight.
